The Nets need to start filling in their roster as they look forward to their first year of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant together, and Paul Reed is as pro-ready of a pick as they come in the 20s.
The soon-to-be 21-year-old played three seasons for DePaul, raising his draft stock each year. He was a fantastic defender as a junior and made the All-Big East first team. Reed averaged 15.1 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.9 steals per game.
He was asked to do more than he should have for a fairly bad Blue Demons team and should be able to be a very efficient scorer in a lesser role in the NBA. The Nets have their star players, and with Reed, start to gain some depth off the bench.
