Utah Jazz. Theo Maledon. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 24. 118. PG, France

Between Enes Kanter, Rudy Gobert, and Dante Exum, the Jazz have experienced the highs, lows and middle ground of taking an international prospect. They roll the dice on another one here, taking the young guard from France.

Especially for an international project, Maldeon isn’t a sexy pick per se, and drafting of him would be based on potential alone. For ASVEL in the Euroleague this season, he averaged less than 20 minutes per game, not putting up any numbers that jump off the page. He is smart and confident with the ball in his hands, and confidence shouldn’t be an issue for the former LNB MVP.

His age, size, and play-making potential should be enough to make him a first-round pick, but Utah will have a lot to work to do with Maledon before he’s NBA ready.
