Atlanta Hawks Starters as How I Met Your Mother Characters
By Nate Friesen
With no end in sight for the NBA hiatus, there’s never been a better time to compare players to the characters in How I Met Your Mother.
The Atlanta Hawks have no shortage of exciting personalities on their team and they match up surprisingly well with the cast of the great sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
For those of you that don’t know, How I Met Your Mother was a television show that ran for nine seasons from 2005-2014. The show was based around Ted Mosby who’s telling a long story to his kids about how he met their mother.
The show is set in New York City and Ted Mosby spends most of his time on the show hanging out with his four best friends, Barney Stinson, Marshall Eriksen, Lily Aldrin and Robin Scherbatsky, in a bar named MacLarens Pub.
The five friends go through their ups and downs but are always there for each other. The five characters compare quite nicely to any basketball team as each one of them had their time to shine individually but they really shared the spotlight and played as a team.
That is certainly one of the reasons for the shows success is the fact that the actors were selfless and had the ability to let each other shine. This is what the young Atlanta Hawks will need to do as they continue to grow.
For now, Trae Young is able to carry the team, but he can only take them so far on his own. Eventually, as the rest of Young’s supporting cast develops, Trae will need to allow his teammates to shine in order for the team to maximize their success.
Let’s take a look at how each of the Hawks starters compare to the five main characters of How I Met Your Mother.
