Box Score

Red Velvet brought it on defense in this one, and while he didn’t have the blocks or steals of the last game, put up a defensive rating he’s only topped in seven other starts this season.

Scoring wise, Huerter started off hot and stayed hot for the most part. He recorded eight first-quarter points, going a perfect 3-3 including 2-2 from three. He didn’t remain as efficient as the night went on but still managed 23 points on just 14 shots.

He made four of five threes, going 3-4 from the stripe in the fourth quarter to help put the game away.

The big headline from this one though was his rebounding, with Huerter pulling down 15 boards. The number easily surpassed his previous career-high of 10 and season-high of eight. Granted, some were just right place, right time boards but he also fought for a few as well. He was just two assists away from recording his first career triple-double.

In terms of advanced stats, Huerter played one of the best games of his career. His BPM was the second-highest of the season, and both his true shooting and effective shooting percentages were in the top-ten.

His performance was a bit out-shined by Trae Young who scored 21 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter to help the Hawks pull away from the feisty Suns. Huerter still had a fantastic performance, his best of the season.
