1. Buddy Hield
Now here’s a guy that would fit absolutely perfectly with the Hawks. Similar to Jrue Holiday, Buddy Hield is an amazing three and D shooting guard that would pair perfectly alongside Trae Young.
Because Hield just signed a massive contract extension, the Hawks would need to get to roughly $19M in order to make a trade for Hield possible. Unfortunately for Dewayne Dedmon, that may mean he’s headed back to Sacramento.
Effectively, this trade is De’Andre Hunter for Buddy Hield which honestly makes a lot of sense for both teams. Hunter is obviously still young and has potential but it’s not likely that he becomes a better player than Buddy Hield.
A starting lineup of Trae Young, Buddy Hield, Cam Reddish, John Collins and Clint Capela would be a really awesome young team that would be an absolute lock to make the playoffs next season. And depending on the growth of Cam Reddish, the Hawks could be set up to contend in the next five years or so.
If the Rudy Gobert trade doesn’t become available, Buddy Hield would be a pretty awesome consolation prize. If the Hawks are looking to upgrade via trade, both these guys would make a lot of sense.
