5. How high could Vince Carter have got on the all-time minutes list?

Vince Carter has had an incredible career and probably the most impressive part of his career is that he’s still playing. Carter is currently playing in his NBA record 22nd season and has stated that it’s likely his last.

Vince Carter has been climbing the minute’s leaderboard over the past few seasons and it would have been interesting to see how high he could have got. He currently sits at number 15 on the all-time minutes list, right behind John Havlicek.

He only needed 104 minutes to pass Havlicek so he likely would have passed him. However, it was unlikely that he would have passed Gary Payton at 13. Either way, we may never find out how high Vince Carter could have got.

Knowing Vince Carter, it’s not impossible that he might run it back for season 23, adding to his already incredible record. If he did come back, he could also have a chance at passing Kevin Garnett on the all-time scoring list, which would be two records Carter could be chasing next season.

While it would be cool if he came back, I certainly wouldn’t bank on it, so it appears that Vince Carter may finish his career at 15th on the all-time minute’s list. Certainly, nothing to be ashamed of.
