1. Would Hawks have finished out the season tanking or winning?

At the end of every season, teams at the bottom of the standings have to look themselves in the mirror and ask if they are going to tank or win for respectability down the stretch of the season. A lot of teams tend to stop trying, rest key players and lose easily winnable games due to a constant malaise over the final month of the season.

This would have been a decision for the Atlanta Hawks to make. It either could have been a time for the Hawks to play hard, work on team chemistry and player development or it could have been a time to rest their best players and tank further down the standings. Either way, we may never know what the Hawks were going to handle it.

This is honestly an important time of the season for teams like the Hawks too. Despite being out of playoff contention, it’s an important time to focus on building for the future.

These final months give teams like the Hawks the ability to get a better look at their young assets and gives them the ability to take a swing on some lesser-known prospects.

It’s unfortunate that the Hawks may not get the chance to do any of these things in the final 15 games of the season.
