Atlanta Hawks: 3 best value contracts on the team
By Nate Friesen
3. Kevin Huerter
Coming in as the third most valuable Atlanta Hawk contract is Kevin Huerter, according to Spotrac’s true value score. Huerter has a true value score of 77.06 which is pretty solid. In fact, it’s the 31st most valuable contract among all guards and 63rd most valuable in the entire NBA.
Huerter was drafted 19th overall in 2018 so he is still on his rookie-scale contract. This is why he is so valuable. This season Huerter made just $2.6M which is incredibly low, especially considering his level of production.
This season Kevin Huerter averaged 12.2 points, 3.8 assists and 0.9 steals per game with shooting splits of .413/.380/.828. These are obviously incredible shooting numbers, especially for a guy in just his second NBA season.
The Atlanta Hawks have had an incredible amount of success with their last four first-round draft picks winding up with Trae Young, Kevin Huerter, De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish. Kevin Huerter is likely going to end up being the worst player out of that group. However, he was the lowest pick of those guys and he is still going to have an important role on this team for a very long time.
