NBA Mock Draft 4.0 — Warriors Take Wiseman First, Hawks grab LaMelo

It’ll be interesting to watch the Spurs this off-season as they continue to try and stay away from their overdue rebuild, and if Demar DeRozan opts-into his player option, the Spurs may try to run it back one more time.
Maxey is a player who can both help now, and in the future, although the Spurs’ roster is a bit full when it comes to guards. The Kentucky product can prove to be worth the pick, especially he can improve on his outside scoring.
As of now, Maxey should be seen solely as a slasher, a good one at that. The 6’3 guard plays above his height at the rim, using nifty moves to finish against bigger defenders.
His defense is what will get the majority of attention, and is what could make him appealing to the Spurs’ front office/coaching staff. He fits the build of a hard-nosed, high-motor defender that could make an All-defense team someday.
His defense is pro-ready, but his offense needs some development, which could easily be done, especially if he sits behind DeRozan for a year.
