Prospect Profile. Pick Analysis. 30. player. 18. C, Minnesota. Boston Celtics (via Milwaukee). Daniel Oturu

Another two-way center from the Big Ten comes off the board, with Oturu being the last name called before the switch from Adam Silver to Mark Tatum.

The Minnesota big man was a near relic as a freshman, with back-to-basket centers like him rarely getting draft attention anymore. Luckily, he added a three, going form 0.1 attempts per game to 1.7, which fell with decent regularity, making 36 percent of his 52 heaves.

The rest of his game is still vintage and his use of post moves is fun to watch but could lack usefulness against better defenders in the NBA. His rebounding and defense will be the main selling point to scouts and GMs; Oturu averaged 11.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game last year en route to a placement on the Big Ten All-Defensive team.

The 6’10 center needs polish but could be a real steal.
