NBA Mock Draft 4.0 — Warriors Take Wiseman First, Hawks grab LaMelo
By Dallin Duffy
The Pistons need a lot of help and unless the team is able to pull a Memphis Grizzlies-like turnaround, will be in the lottery for quite some time. Hayes can be the team’s captain both now and into the future.
The International product is one of the youngest players in the class and boasts terrific playmaking skills. While not as highlight-worthy as LaMelo Ball, Hayes’ passing is crisp, smart, and almost underappreciated.
Whoever is on the Detroit roster next season is sure to love Hayes and his facilitating, as will coach Dwayne Casey.
The 6’5 guard does have to work on his outside shooting and the sub-30 three-point percentage is a glaring hole on his scouting report. With the Pistons unlikely to be competing anytime soon, Hayes will have time to add that to his game while adjusting the league.
