Golden State Warriors

Overview:

Blockbuster! Former Warriors executive and current Hawks GM Travis Schlenk has been identified as the man responsible for scouting and suggesting the team to take Draymond Green in the 2nd round, and reunites with him by sending a young star, John Collins.

Why Atlanta says yes:

Draymond is a proven winner and one of the best defensive players in recent NBA memory. The Hawks have been near the bottom of the league when it comes to defense for quite some time, and he can finally help them turn it around.

The 2021 first-rounder will likely be in the mid-’20s, which will be a nice bonus more than a true game-changer.

Why Golden State says yes:

John Collins is one of the most exciting players in the league and is coming off a breakout season. His elite rim-running makes him a very fun fit next to Steph Curry.

Why Atlanta says no:

Collins is a potential face of the franchise type guy and is just about to enter his prime. Draymond may be better in the next 1-2 years, but Collins will be better for years after that.

Why Golden State says no:

Aging or not, Draymond is a franchise cornerstone and the beating heart of their defense.
