Memphis Grizzlies

Overview:

The Grizzlies gain a shooting guard that’s currently missing from their roster while the Hawks are compensated both now and in the future.

Why Atlanta says yes:

Kyle Anderson won’t fill Huerter’s shoes on offense but can be much better on the other end of the court. The 2022 first can, of course, be used when we get there in two years or be used as trade bait before then.

Why Memphis says yes:

The Grizz lack a true shooting guard on their young and talented roster. Huerter shot 38 percent from three in each of his first two seasons and would carry on that tradition in Memphis. They also save some money.

Why Atlanta says no:

Kevin Huerter gels well with the current roster, Kyle Anderson’s lack of three-point shooting makes him a questionable fit in Lloyd Pierce’s system.

Why Memphis says no:

Losing any unprotected pick is scary. Even though the Grizz project to be a playoff team then, injuries and other detriments could derail it and make the pick very valuable.
