Ranking the three best and worst moves of Travis Schlenk since taking over as the Atlanta Hawks’ GM.

The Atlanta Hawks hired Travis Schlenk on May 25th, 2017. He came over after working in the Golden State Warriors organization since 2004, assistant GM since 2014. Schlenk took over a Hawks team ready to begin a rebuild and he rebuild he did.

Only two players who were on the team when Schlenk was hired – DeAndre’ Bembry and Dewayne Dedmon – are still in Atlanta just a few years later. He’s been a very active GM, and a very good one too.

Schlenk took a blank slate roster and turned in them into a team stacked with young talent, ready to make a playoff push next season after just a few years running things.

Here I tried to rank the three best and three worst moves Schlenk has made, but it was as hard to decide which were actually the best three out of all his savvy moves, as it was finding three moves that would be considered bad.

While there’s no basketball being played right now, let’s take a look at the three best and worst moves Travis Schlenk has made as the Atlanta Hawks GM.
