Atlanta Hawks NBA Draft Big Board 1.0 with 30 player comparisons.

The Atlanta Hawks have options aplenty heading into the 2020 NBA Draft. They can stay put with their top-8 pick and take a top prospect, trade down and pick up another asset along with a later pick, or trade out of the draft entirely and perhaps land a star player in return.

Obviously they’ll be doing their due diligence when it comes to scouting, and as I have taken a look at more of these players, I’m coming around on the draft class as a whole. While they’re no clear-cut top prospects like  Zion Williamson or  Ben Simmons, the draft is incredibly deep.

Usually, only 10-20 players out of the 60 drafted become solid NBA players, and I could see that number go up for this draft, even if there are no certified All-stars. Here we’ll be putting together the first iteration of our Atlanta Hawks big board, ranking the top 30 prospects.

I’ve put these rankings together based on a mix of my personal preference and the prospects’ fit with the team. Players like Obi Toppin and James Wiseman will and should be higher on other big boards, but since their fit on the Hawks is less defined, they’ll be lower on this big board.
