Measurables:

Position: Point guard

Height: 6’2

Weight: 185

Wingspan: 6’4

Overview:

Rare defensive tools for his stature make him an interesting fit in a point guard class full of offensive-minded shooters.

NBA Outlook:

Jones can carve out a career in the NBA on his perimeter defense alone, which he may have to do. Nearly every other part of his game is a question mark, but his defense and motor cannot be ignored.

Player Comparison:

Kris Dunn, Quinn Cook, or a poor man’s Marcus Smart.

Fit With Atlanta Hawks:

It’s easy to say Jones would fit with the Hawks to help offset Trae Young’s lackluster defense, and it’s easy to say because it’s true. He can be a perfect backup to Trae and his confident mindset makes him solid injury protection.
