Obi Toppin. Scouting Report. PF. Dayton. 14. player. 125. Pick Analysis

Measurables:

Position: Power forward

Height: 6’0

Weight: 220

Wingspan: 6’11

Overview:

A 22-year-old sophomore coming off one of the best collegiate seasons we’ve seen this decade. How many times has “most accomplished NCAA player in the draft” been synonymous with “draft bust”?

NBA Outlook:

Toppin is all offense and truly electric on that end. His lack of even basic defensive tools is incredibly alarming, lowering his NBA ceiling considerably.

Player Comparison:

John Collins with worse defense or a faster Jahlil Okafor.

Fit With Atlanta Hawks:

Toppin will be in the top-ten on most big boards, top-five on some. His fit with the Atlanta Hawks is just simply not there, bringing him down a handful here. A better version of him (John Collins) is already on the team.
