CAIRNS, AUSTRALIA – JANUARY 09: RJ Hampton of the Breakers warms up before the start of the round 15 NBL match between the Cairns Taipans and the New Zealand Breakers at the Cairns Convention Centre on January 09, 2020 in Cairns, Australia. (Photo by Ian Hitchcock/Getty Images) /

RJ Hampton. player. 125. Scouting Report. Australia. Pick Analysis. SG. 10

Measurables:

Position: Shooting guard

Height: 6’5

Weight: 188

Wingspan: 6’7

Overview:

Athletic combo-guard with perhaps the best mid-range game in the class. After playing just 15 games overseas, Hampton is far from pro-ready.

NBA Outlook:

Hampton has a lot to prove outside his established shot-creation skills, but can be a throwback guard for a long time in the league. Could be a solid project pick for a team who can afford to play him big minutes as a rookie without worrying about him struggling.

Player Comparison:

Jordan Clarkson.

Fit With Atlanta Hawks:

Hampton fits the role of a secondary play-maker which the Hawks need desperately. His shot-creation and raw play-making could make him a great backcourt fit next to Young.
