Tyrese Maxey. 8. 528. Scouting Report. player. Pick Analysis. SG. Kentucky

Measurables:

Position: Shooting guard

Height: 6’3

Weight: 198

Wingspan: 6’6

Overview:

Skilled guard with all the offensive tools to become a star, even if his splits at Kentucky doesn’t show that.

NBA Outlook:

Undersized for a two-guard and lacking the skills to be a point guard, the team that drafts Maxey will have to come to terms with playing small-ball. His shot-creation and overall scoring will help offset his lack of defensive burst.

Player Comparison:

Collin Sexton or Terry Rozier with less play-making.

Fit With Atlanta Hawks:

Maxey can be the shooting guard of the future in Atlanta and his inside-out play would be near perfect next to Trae. Obviously the inconsistent defense is a concern, which may keep him as a bench piece if the Hawks draft him.
