The Atlanta Hawks made some big additions to their roster this offseason; here are a few guys who have moved on and where they’ll be this season.

We all know it has been a busy offseason for the now playoff-hopeful Atlanta Hawks. With all of the new talent making its way to the Peach State, here are some of the guys who are no longer suiting up for the Hawks and where they’ll be earning their minutes this year.

Jabari Parker – Sacramento Kings

Though he’s proven he can score, Jabari Parker and his injuries kept him sidelined for much of his time with the Atlanta Hawks. In the 32 games Parker played with the Hawks, he averaged 15 points per game on .504/.270/.736 shooting splits. Not the best, but Parker has a chance to really get it going at just 24-years-old.

The Hawks dealt Parker to the Sacramento Kings earlier this year for Dewayne Dedmon, a 2020 Rockets second-round pick, and a 2021 Heat second-round pick.

Dewayne Dedmon – Still available

As just discussed, the Atlanta Hawks got Dewayne Dedmond from the Sacramento Kings earlier last year. Demon previously spent the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons with the Hawks prior to this trade. After suffering an ankle injury in his last stint with the Hawks, Dedmon signed a 3-year, $40 million contract with the Sacramento Kings. His time with the Kings didn’t go as planned and he was sent back to Atlanta in the Jabari Parker deal.

Then, he was on the move once again.

Detroit immediately waived Dedmon and he’s yet to be picked up by another squad. This is definitely surprising to many, but we’ll keep an eye out for where Dewayne Dedmond eventually lands.

Alex Len – Toronto Raptors

Another piece in the Kings trade, Alex Len spent two years with the Atlanta Hawks before being moved to Sacramento. In his time in Atlanta, Len averaged 10.3 points and 0.9 blocks in19.6 minutes per game. With a less than stellar lineup at the center position, Alex Len did what he could in his time with the Hawks.

Now that his time with the Kings has ended, Len will be north of the border to start the 2020 NBA season.

Alex Len has the ability to play a key role for the Raptors this year as Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol are no longer in Toronto.

Vince Carter – Retired

After a 22 year hall of fame career, Vince Carter decided to call it quits after the Hawks wrapped up this past season. Vinsanity gave the Atlanta Hawks two seasons of veteran leadership before he made the announcement that he wouldn’t be returning for year 23.

Evan Turner – Retired, coaching

Vince Carter wasn’t the only Atlanta Hawks player to hang up his jersey this offseason. Even Turner also decided to step away from the court, but only as a player.

Turner will join the Boston Celtics coaching staff in hopes of getting young players like Jayson Tatum to the next level and ultimately into championship contention.
