Kevin Huerter – Shooting Guard/Small Forward

Also entering into his third year in the league, Kevin Huerter made some improvements to his game last year and saw it reflected on the stat sheet. Though he missed significant time with a rotator cuff injury, Huerter saw his points per game jump up from 9.7 to 12.2 per contest.

Known mostly as a spot-up shooter, Huerter did show some signs of playmaking ability and even brought the ball up for the floor at times when Trae Young was overwhelmed and overworked. He doesn’t defend or rebound particularly well, which leaves room for others to come in and take the starting spot from him.

The Hawks have also drastically improved their shooting, signing Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari to multi-year deals. Both of those gentlemen can shoot and create their own shots better than Huerter can so Atlanta Hawks fans can expect to see Red Velvet’s minutes decline this season.
