Clint Capela and John Collins fit together

One guy that Atlanta Hawks fans really wanted to get a look at was former Houston Rockets big man Clint Capela. After joining the Hawks last season, Capela didn’t see the floor much because of some injuries. Now healthy and ready to go, Capela had a nice showing last night, going 4 for 6 from the field for 8 points and snagging 14 boards in just 20 minutes.

As exciting as it was to see him perform well, many fans were concerned with how Capela would fit with budding star John Collins. What we learned last night is that these pieces can absolutely fit together for Atlanta and that John Collins and Capela ought to be a nightmare on the offensive boards for opposing teams. Collins, already a 20 and 10 guy every night, can play the power forward position and will now have another defensive presence in the paint to relieve some of the pressure of being a two-way player. Collins went 4 for 6 from the field as well, knocking down his only three for 14 points and 9 rebounds in 22 minutes.
