Atlanta Hawks: 3 Ways Trae Young can make the All-Star team in 2021
The Atlanta Hawks need to win for PG Trae Young to make the NBA All-Star game in 2021
The most impressive part about Trae Young making the NBA All-Star game was the fact that the Atlanta Hawks were a terrible team last year. They finished with a 20-47 record and were not invited to the NBA restart in the bubble.
The Hawks’ roster has done a complete 180, and fans are now wondering if they ought to compete for a playoff spot this year. There are downsides to rebuilding too quickly, but it remains to be seen if the Atlanta Hawks will fall victim to them. With all of the buzz surrounding the Hawks’ offseason moves, it’s no doubt that expectations will be high for Trae Young and company.
To make his second All-Star game, Trae Young will need to be the leader on a winning team. With his career numbers already being ridiculous, he should be able to do more with the new weapons around him. A look at the roster would tell you that the Hawks have gotten considerably better at shooting, adding Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari. Their post presence is much better as well, as John Collins is back and will be playing in a contract year and Clint Capela sees the floor for the first time since joining the team last year.
The Atlanta Hawks will have many more eyes on them this season as they attempt to make the leap from one of the league’s worst teams to a playoff hopeful. Trae Young’s play will surely determine their success, while the team’s success will also determine his.
