Handing out grades for the Atlanta Hawks’ 124-104 win over Chicago.

The Atlanta Hawks kicked off the 2020-21 season in a big way. Facing the Bulls on Wednesday night, the team showed off their offensive firepower, scoring 83 points in the first half en route to a 124-104 win.

Trae Young showed no signs of rust after a nine-month-plus offseason, scoring a team-high 37 points on just 12 shots. His teammates were no slouches either, as the team combined to shoot 53.8 percent from the field, 40.0 from 3.

They only finished with 124 or more points in 12 games all of last season, so this is certainly a great start for the offense.

The squad also fared better defensively than the final score might indicate. The Bulls took advantage of garbage time, outscoring Atlanta 25-13 in the final frame. At one point, the Hawks led by 40.

Every member of the starting five finished with a plus/minus of at least +21, with De’Andre Hunter taking home the highest on the night: +40.

It was a great all-around performance for the Atlanta Hawks that looks on pace to at least compete for a playoff spot.

Let’s go player by player and hand out some grades for their individual performances.
