Bench Grades:

SG. Hawks. BOGDAN BOGDANOVIC. C. If you did have to pick one top player who struggled a bit in this one, it would be Bogdanovic. The free-agent pickup was far from bad but made just 5-of-12 of his attempts, 3-of-8 from 3. He did add seven rebounds and a steal. Better shooting nights are to come from him.

C -. Fernando took just three shots in his 18 minutes of play, making two. For a big man who struggled with rebounding and fouls last season, he didn’t show much improvement there either, grabbing just one board and committing three fouls. He’ll see less action when Capela and Okongwu suit up.. C. Hawks. BRUNO FERNANDO

C. Hill logged 28 scoreless minutes but was the lone second-unit player that looked interested in playing a lick of defense. He gets a pass for that and the offense will come around for the veteran.. SF. Hawks. SOLOMON HILL

D. With Rajon Rondo and Kris Dunn out, Goodwin tallied 13 minutes of the pine. He didn’t do much with that time outside of making a trey. The Bulls’ bench bullied the poor defender in garbage time, leading to the guard posting a team-worst plus/minus of -18. He did dish out four assists, but fans should be hoping Rondo and Dunn get back soon.. PG. Hawks. BRANDON GOODWIN

B -. Huerter was solid in this one, making two 3s and continuing to use his underrated playmaking to dish out four assists. After being a starter the majority of his first two seasons in the league, Huerter should thrive in a more appropriate sixth-man position this year.. SG. Hawks. KEVIN HUERTER

NATHAN KNIGHT. C. Knight made his NBA debut in this one but failed to record his first points. He did collect three rebounds in just five minutes and played with effort. We’ll see if he can be the next Hawks two-way player to have a breakout season.. F. Hawks

C -. After a solid preseason, Mays made his NBA debut and didn’t do much of anything either. He took just one shot (a miss) and didn’t record a steal, assist or rebound in five minutes. I still think he has promise, but some time in the G-League could be needed.. SG. Hawks. SKYLAR MAYS

Next. 3 potential John Collins trade. dark
