Joe Johnson. 4. player. 125. . SF/SG. Atlanta Hawks

Best Atlanta Hawks of all-time – Joe Johnson (2005-2012)

Joe Johnson began his long and noteworthy NBA career in 2001 after being drafted out of Arkansas, 10th overall to the Boston Celtics. Johnson was soon after shipped to Phoenix where he became a more confident scorer and rebounder, averaging 14 points per game in 4 seasons. He made the All-Rookie Second Team in 2002 but was traded to the Atlanta Hawks in 2005 for Boris Diaw and a first-round draft pick.

Johnson would make himself at home in Atlanta for the next seven years, piling up some incredible stats in his time.

Joe Johnson joined a team with Josh Smith and Tyronn Lue and began his Atlanta career. “Iso Joe” as he was called came into his own in Atlanta raddling off six straight NBA All-Star appearances from 2006 to 2012. He made the All-NBA Third Team in 2010 averaging 21.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists on the year. T

he Hawks made the playoffs five out of seven of Joe Johnson’s years with the team. He played his final season with the Hawks in 2012 before being traded to the Brooklyn Nets. He averaged 20.9 points, 4,2, rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game in his time with the Hawks. Johnson also played for the Miami Heat, Utah Jazz, and Houston Rockets before retiring in 2019. A quiet player, for the most part, Joe Johnson’s time with the Hawks most likely goes underrated because of Johnson’s overall absence from headlines.
