Checking in on the Atlanta Hawks through seven games.

The Atlanta Hawks have played seven games thus far, dropping their last two after a hot start. Their record stands at 4-3 ahead of their Wednesday matchup with Charlotte. Let’s check in on the team and highlight some of the keynotes surrounding them.

Back-to-back blown leads:

As mentioned, the Atlanta Hawks have dropped their last two contests, both in less-than-ideal fashion. They blew a 15-point lead in both games and looked lost in the fourth quarter. The Cavaliers game was pretty rough overall outside the first quarter, but in the Knicks game, they were rolling until they seemingly hit the off switch in the final period.

This is definitely a trend to watch out for moving forward, although their next two games are against Charlotte, who (at least on paper) shouldn’t give them too much of a struggle.

Rondo out for a stretch:

The team announced on Tuesday that Rajon Rondo will miss at least three games with a right knee injury. The veteran point guard has appeared in just two games this season. Expect Brandon Goodwin to continue filling in off the bench.

In other injury news, Bogdan Bogdanovic looks to be fine and shouldn’t miss tonight’s game against the Hornets.

Okongwu, Snell debut?

Atlanta’s top pick in the 2020 draft could be nearing his long-awaited debut. The big man, along with veteran pickup Tony Snell, was cleared for 3-on-3 activities on Tuesday. This comes about a week after the USC product got fans excited with this Tweet:

It’s hard to put an exact timetable on his return, but him making his debut when the Hawks complete their west-coast road trip on Jan. 18 would make sense.
