Starter Grades:

F. You won’t meet a bigger defender of Trae than myself, but tonight’s performance was indefensible. He was simply bad out there, looking like he rather be doing anything but playing basketball. He took just nine shots, most of which were not good looks. When he wasn’t fishing for a foul, he was playing poor defense. Add in the seven turnovers and a plus/minus of -15, that’s a recipe for an F. Tonight was the first night in forever that I felt more confident in somebody else leading the Hawks.. PG. Atlanta Hawks. TRAE YOUNG

F. Yikes. Cam shot 3-of-15 from the field tonight and while there’s definitely more to say, I’ll leave it at that.. SG. Atlanta Hawks. CAM REDDISH

B -. Hunter has had a few performances this year in which the box score doesn’t do his play justice. Tonight was another one of those, as while his lackluster shooting night doesn’t look great in the stat line, he played well overall. He was one of the few Hawks players to show a smidge of confidence on offense and was his usual self on defense, with Gordon Hayward hitting a few tough shots over him.. SF. Atlanta Hawks. DE'ANDRE HUNTER

B. Collins kept the offense afloat in the early going and made some key plays to keep them in the game. He finished with 23 on 9-of-16 shooting and added 11 boards. A perfectly serviceable performance for the big man.. PF. Atlanta Hawks. JOHN COLLINS

This was the Capela that Atlanta fans were patiently waiting to see all offseason. The center was a menace on the glass and took away nearly the entire paint on defense. He ended with 19 rebounds in just 26 minutes and while he didn’t add much on offense, his defensive presence and rebounding certainly made up for that. Why didn’t he play in crunch time? Don’t ask me.. C. Atlanta Hawks. CLINT CAPELA. A
