The Atlanta Hawks are looking to exact revenge against the Charlotte Hornets after they came back from 24 points down to almost take the win last game.

The Atlanta Hawks had a game that was the tale of two halves last time out against the Charlotte Hornets. They were jumped in the first quarter, going down 11-27 at the end of the first period, ending the half. The Hawks would find themselves in a 19 point hole at the long break.

The 3-ball was not falling and the Hornets zone defense was stopping the tremendous play-making abilities of Trae Young. He would have seven turnovers in the first half with only two points, three rebounds, and two assists.

The only real bright spots for the Hawks were John Collins who had 14 points and nine rebounds at the half and Kevin Huerter who was the only Hawks player to hit multiple 3-point shots. He had three of the Hawks four made treys. On the other end, Gordon Hayward was on fire.

The Atlanta Hawks showed incredible fight in the second half.

Collins and Huerter continued their good games in the second half. They were ably assisted by Clint Capela who need the game with 19 rebounds, De’Andre Hunter who had 17 points on the night, and Brandon Goodwin whose speed helped dismantle the Hornets zone defense.

The unsung hero of the night was Solomon Hill who managed to slow Hayward down in the third period which allowed the Hawks back in the game. They would take the lead for the first time on the night with five minutes to go before the final buzzer before running out of steam at the end, losing by eight points.
