The Atlanta Hawks lost their second straight game to the Charlotte Hornets – three takeaways.

The Atlanta Hawks had their second straight loss to the Charlotte Hornets. The loss was again by eight points but the Hawks did not fall behind by 24 this time, they were within touching distance of the Hornets for a lot of the game.

Last game the Hornets rode the back of Gordon Hayward to victory but De’Andre Hunter played a really good defensive game against the former Butler star the second time around. In this game, it was the third pick in the 2020 NBA draft, LaMelo Ball who carried the Hornets.

Ball became the youngest player ever in the NBA to collect a triple-double at 19 years and 140 days old. He beat the previous record mark of 19 years and 317 days held by Markelle Fultz by close to six months.

The Atlanta Hawks had some good bright spots despite four straight losses.

There were certainly some bright spots in the loss for the Hawks. De’Andre Hunter continued his tremendous season collecting 20 points and eight rebounds. Cam Reddish had a solid game off the bench with 21 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Kevin Huerter continued his strong start to the season with 11 points, six assists, and four rebounds.

Trae Young had a solid double-double with 15 points and 10 assists and only four turnovers. He was not his usual dominant self and gave the Hawks a scare when he appeared to hurt his wrist taking a charge late in the third period. He says that he is not badly injured and should play in the next game.

The same cannot be said for Bogdan Bogdanovic when he appeared to trip midcourt and injured his knee. He did not play again for the rest of the game and will undergo tests to see the extent of his injury.
