Atlanta Hawks bench unit grades

SG/SF. Atlanta Hawks. KEVIN HUERTER. B+.

Kevin Huerter, the Atlanta Hawks super-sub had another typically solid game against the Hornets. He collected 11 points, six assists, and four rebounds in a good all-round performance. Lost marks for going 3-of-10 from deep but that was the only blemish on his performance. Was active all night and helped with the ball-handling duties.

B+. . SG. Atlanta Hawks. CAM REDDISH

Cam Reddish moved back to the bench for this game and started off really well, appearing to come out of his 3-point shooting slump. Unfortunately for Reddish and the Hawks, he cooled off in the second half, ending the game 4-of-13 from deep. Reddish had his hands full for most of the game with Ball but still able to collect five rebounds, four steals, and one rebound to go along with 21 points.

PG. Atlanta Hawks. BRANDON GOODWIN. C+.

Brandon Goodwin played just under 13 minutes and did not have the same impact as last game. He connected on two field goals for five points and had three assists. The problem for Goodwin on the night is that he was on the court when the Hornets were making their runs which would eventually lead to their victory.

B+. . F. Atlanta Hawks. SOLOMON HILL

Solomon Hill played just under 20 minutes and had a decent game. He went 3-of-5 from deep for nine points as well as collecting three rebounds, three assists, three steals, and one block. He was also on the court for periods where the Hornets were going on their runs but the way he played was not the cause of them.

C. . PF. Atlanta Hawks. NATHAN KNIGHT

We had another Nathan Knight sighting in this game and it was for a total of two minutes. In that time he was able to block one shot and collect one rebound. Due to the lack of depth for the Hawks in the big man department, Knight is being played out of position at center. He missed a couple of defensive assignments in the game but that will come with time. Shows plenty of potential as a two-way player.

In closing:

The Hornets had too many weapons for the injury-depleted Atlanta Hawks team to counter.  This was the Hawks’ fourth straight and will look to improve against the Philadelphia 76ers next game.
