Atlanta Hawks key No. 2) Getting to the line is king

A crucial part of any NBA offense is getting to the line. James Harden has made a career out of shooting the 3-ball and getting to the line. During the first five games, Young was the best in the NBA, beating even Harden at getting to the line. Remember the Hawks went 4-1 during this time.

Against the 76ers De’Andre Hunter was struggling to make a field goal. However, he finished the half with eight points, he went 6-of-7 from the line in the half. This helped him end the game with 15 points, seeing the ball go through the hoop from the line got him going. This is the power of free throws.

Capela got to the line six times, and so did Young. Reddish got there three times. In fact, the Hawks took 27 free-throw attempts for the game, making 21 of them. That is 21 unpressured points which helped the Hawks put the 76ers away.

This also helped get the best bench player for the 76ers, Isaiah Joe, get into foul trouble. He had 18 points and four assists but was not able to stay on the court as long as the 76ers would have liked because of the five fouls. Once again, this is the power of getting to the line.
