Best OKC Thunder reserve performance:

KEVIN HUERTER. C+. . SG. Atlanta Hawks

Huerter was not his normal self this game. He scored most of his points in the second half when the offense went through him. A bit off from deep but this did not matter as the rest of the Hawks were on. Huerter’s off night coincided with the rest of the time being on which was a blessing for the Hawks

C. Atlanta Hawks. BRUNO FERNANDO. B-.

Was the first big off the bench. Embiid made him look a little slow but that is understandable. Against the rest of the 76ers’ bigs, Fernando looked really good defensively. He was true to his season averages with two points and five rebounds.Looked to take the ball to the hoop a fair bit before kicking it out.

B. . F. Atlanta Hawks. SOLOMON HILL

His 3-point shooting helped space the floor when the game was still a contest, making three of them. He also was one of the main help defenders on Embiid in the second period which slowed the big man down. Another solid defensive game by the veteran.

BRANDON GOODWIN. A. . PG. Atlanta Hawks

Changed the game the moment he got on the court. His hustle defense turned the 76ers over and was high-energy which transferred to the rest of the Hawks. Had extended minutes in the second half allowing him to collect 15 points, four rebounds, and four assists. He is growing every game with Rajon Rondo out, which will benefit the Hawks later in the season.

PF. Atlanta Hawks. NATHAN KNIGHT. B.

Nathan Knight played just under 16 minutes and was just energy. Played hard inside and collected two blocks, and a steal. Made a 3-ball but struggled to finish inside, hence he went 1-of-7 from the floor. He is going to learn how to finish at the rim the more that he plays.

. G. Atlanta Hawks. SKYLAR MAYS. D

We saw our fifth Skylar Mays action tonight and he played a decent five minutes He managed to hand off one assist and missed both of his field-goal attempts.

Atlanta Hawks. TONY SNELL. D. . G/F

The Hawks saw their first action tonight from Tony Snell. His shot looked rusty but that can be expected coming back from injury. Hopefully, this will lead to more playing time in the upcoming road trip.

In closing:

This was a really nice bounce-back game for the Hawks. They are about to embark on a tough road trip out west and they could have lost eight straight without the win tonight. Now they can start the trip with a bit of confidence and hopefully, they can get Rajon Rondo back as he will be assessed before the start of the trip.
