The Atlanta Hawks had an unscheduled night off at the start of their three-game road trip and now face a good Utah Jazz team with a little more rest.

The Atlanta Hawks were due to start their road trip against the Phoenix Suns on January 13th but the game had to be postponed due to the Suns having too many players out. They had played the Washington Wizards in the previous game and too many players out through health and safety protocols.

In a twist of fate, the Utah Jazz were also slated to play the Wizards on January 13th but the game was postponed. Had that game gone ahead the Hawks would have missed the first two games of their road trip. As it is, the Hawks are playing the Jazz with the most players they had have available all season and are better rested than they would have expected.

The Jazz is going to be a challenge as they have a 7-4 record which is good for third in the ultra-competitive Western conference. When their offense is clicking they are almost unstoppable. However, they can be slowed and two of their four losses have come against sub .500 teams.

The Jazz shoots the 3- ball at 39.1 percent which is currently seventh-best in the NBA. However, do not let that number fool you as their best shooter, Bojan Bogdanovic is so hot and cold on the season. He will be off for a whole game and then hit 6-of-7 as he did against the San Antonio Spurs.

On top of that, Mike Conley, Donovan Mitchell, Joe Ingles, Royce O’Neale, and Jordan Clarkson are all able to light it up from deep. It is going to take a switched on defensive game by the entire Hawks squad to stop the barrage.
