Atlanta Hawks: 4 keys to victory against the Utah Jazz
Atlanta Hawks key No. 3 ) Slow down Jordan Clarkson.
Since coming to the Jazz, Clarkson has been an absolute livewire off the bench. He is averaging 17.2 points,, 4.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.0 steals just 24.3 minutes per game. His scoring average is the third-highest on the team through the first 11 games.
However, it is not the volume at which he is scoring that is the most impressive part. Clarkson is shooting the ball at an incredible level of efficiency. If he keeps this shooting up he will be joining the exclusive .500/.400/.900 club.
He is hitting from the field at exactly 50.0 percent at the moment which is superb considering he is taking 13.2 shot attempts per game. What is even more impressive is he is taking almost exactly half of his shots from behind the line. He is shooting 43.7 percent from deep on 6.5 attempts per game. He is also converting his free throws at 93.3 percent on 1.4 attempts per game.
If you slow Clarkson down so that he has a negative impact on the box score when he is on the court then the Jazz usually lose the game. This season he is only negative in the plus-minus in two games and both of them were losses.
