Atlanta Hawks Reason things will get better No. 1) Offensive Chemistry

When a team adds players then there will always be a time where the team starts to develop offensive chemistry. During this time there can be players getting in each other’s way or passes that miss the mark. It is just the nature of new players working together.

As mentioned on the previous slide, Young and Capela have worked out their pick and roll flow and they have also worked out their lob timing. It is a beautiful thing to see. However, there were a number of plays in the game against the Timberwolves which show there is plenty of room for improvement.

While the spacing tends to be good, there were a few times in the paint where players got into each other’s way. It was when Young was not on the court so they will improve this spacing as the season goes on.

This team is also adding Danilo Gallinari to a dynamic scoring unit meaning that the team has another triple-threat scoring option. As Young and Rajon Rondo learn to play with the smooth shooting power forward, the space on the floor is going to feel like a freeway against some teams.

Rondo is the last piece of this puzzle, He is mainly playing with the second unit and they have not been shooting the ball well. This means that Rondo is penetrating to kick the ball out but the defense is able to collapse on him with confidence. Gallinari, Snell, Reddish, and Huerter, depending on who starts, will create more space for Rondo to work.
