The Atlanta Hawks have had an up and down season thanks in large part to the injuries that they have suffered to some key players. They had a good run to start the season but then those injuries hit and they slid down the standings.

Trae Young has been superb for most of the season, yes he did struggle for the patch of games where the Hawks lost seven of nine but outside of that he has been superb. John Collins has also been a little inconsistent but when he has been on his game he has been irrepressible.

Cam Reddish has been a little disappointing at times but then when his 3-point game is on the Hawks have looked unstoppable. He has been hampered by a knee injury which seems to be the story of the Hawks seasons with both Bogdan Bogdanovic and De’Andre Hunter missing large chunks of time.

The Atlanta Hawks newer players have also been good

Apart from when he was out injured, Danilo Gallinari has been a solid addition to the Hawks squad. His outside shooting and ability to get to the line has been invaluable to the Hawks’ play and he has even helped Rajon Rondo look good at times.

Kevin Huerter, in his second season,  has continued his solid play and has made it into the starting lineup due to the injuries suffered by Reddish and Hunter. He has played well enough to justify staying in the lineup even when these players return. Now, let’s get onto the four biggest surprises of the season.
