Atlanta Hawks trade partner the New Orleans Pelicans) Why they agree.

The Pelicans have made it known that they are looking to trade Lonzo Ball. With Eric Bledsoe running the team effectively, Ball has become a little superfluous to the Pelicans’ needs. With the fact that Ball did not sign a rookie-max deal, there is a good chance that the Pelicans do not see Ball being a part of their future.

The problem is that the Pelicans do not have a viable option for the backup point guard role. Kira Lewis Jr has been good so far this season but if Bledsoe goes missing during the playoffs again the Pelicans will be totally out of their depth.

Having an experienced guard like Rondo to come in and settle the team down is crucial. Except for this year, he has the ability to regularly find players who do not even know that they are open themselves. Imagine the pick and roll action Rondo would have with Steven Adams and Zion Williamson.

Reddish, when he gets out of his shooting slump will be a crucial piece for the Pelicans to move up in the West. He will most certainly help their perimeter defense which is the worst in the NBA. On top of that, when he gets his shot back from deep he will make the Pelicans very hard to defend.
