Atlanta Hawks Question No. 2) Should Nate McMillan be offered the job full time?

When Nate McMillan took over as head coach the Hawks were on a slow boat going nowhere. They were sitting in 11th position in the Eastern Conference and had suffered massive losing skids. It was easy to blame the injuries suffered by some key members of the Hawks squad for the position they were in.

McMillan took the job two games prior to the All-Star break and went on an eight-game winning streak which bought the Hawks back to relevance. He made sure that each member of the team who took the court knew their role and he started to get more out of each man, showing that injuries can be overcome.

Now the Hawks are firmly in the playoff picture, which is where they should be, and McMillan was named Eastern Conference coach of the month for March. The scary thing for the rest of the NBA is the Hawks are just going to get better.

While McMillan received a gift in his first game as coach in the form of a healthy Bogdan Bogdanovic, he also had some bad luck with John Collins getting injured, along with the rest of the injury list, but that has not stopped the winning. McMillan deserves to be the official head coach of the Atlanta Hawks.
