The Atlanta Hawks have made massive changes to their team from last season. They made multiple trades in the offseason and also signed multiple players who helped fix various issues they have had with their roster.

Some of these moves have worked a treat, others have not. They fixed one of the fixes by trading Rajon Rondo for Lou Williams and they have not lost a game since Williams joined the team. In a season of flux, they are now sitting in fourth, despite the huge number of key injuries they have suffered.

The Hawks were in 11th position with only two games left before the All-Star break. The front office decided that they needed to move on from head coach Lloyd Pierce and installed Nate McMillan as their interim coach. This move worked so well, he was named the Eastern Conference coach of the month for March

The Atlanta Hawks need to finish the season out strong

Now that McMillan has the team playing the way that they should be, the Hawks have moved up the standings. They are looking to try and control their own destiny when it comes to the playoffs. Most pundits picked them as a candidate for the play-in tournament. The Hawks are looking to bypass this and be in the top six teams in the conference at the end of the season.
