The Atlanta Hawks have made it back to the playoffs for the first time since the 2016-17 season. They have done this on the back of their young core meshing so well with the veterans the front office managed to sign over the offseason.

A prime example of this is how the backcourt of Trae Young and Bogdan Bogdanovic has become one of the best in the entire association. They feed off each other in such a manner that they are hard to stop, particularly when they involve the frontcourt as well.

It took until the final day of the regular season for the Hawks to win the Southeast division title, and to lock in the fifth seed. They face the New York Knicks, a team they were not able to beat in the regular season.

The Atlanta Hawks have tremendous self-belief

One of the things that has been instilled in the Hawks since Nate McMillan took over as the interim head coach is self-belief. He has the Hawks believing that they should be in the playoffs and that they should win the playoff series against the Knicks.

They have a number of players who are crucial for their success but everybody knows who these players are. Not everybody knows who the secret weapons are for the Hawks. The players who are given a role, who give up aspects of their game in order to benefit their team. These players are crucial for the success of any franchise. Let’s look at who they are for the Hawks this season.
