Atlanta Hawks secret weapon No. 1) Kevin Huerter

Kevin Huerter is a glue guy whose multi-faced game is a key component for the success of the Atlanta Hawks. He has been an iron man for the Hawks missing only a handful of games for the season. Even after injuring his shoulder he only missed two games.

Huerter has struggled a little with his perimeter shot since coming back from injury, but he can hurt you in so many other ways. He is leading the team in steals and creates some good offense for his team based on his defense. He always runs the floor hard at every chance that he gets.

This is the heart of Huerter’s game, the desire to do the little things which help his team. He spaces the floor with his 3-point shooting, rebounds when required, and he is able to create his own shot in the mid-range which can have the impact of freezing the defense.

On top of that, Huerter has really developed his playmaking ability and is the clear choice of Nate McMillan to run the second unit. He can also be the second or third ball-handler behind the starting backcourt and the Hawks do not lose much.
