Ways Trae Young will be crucial for the Atlanta Hawks No. 1) The 3-point shooting.

For the first two seasons of his career, Young was by far the best 3-point shooter on the Hawks roster. That all changed this year when the Hawks added Dinalo Gallinari, Tony Snell, and Bogdan Bogdanovic. John Collins has also become a decent snipe from behind the line.

That does not change the fact that Young’s ability from deep is one of the most influential factors on the Hawks’ offense. Young has a multitude of ways that he is going to help the team but it all starts with how good he is from the outside.

While Young has the speed to blow past his defender, there are ways to slow down speedy players. However, if the defense needs to defend Young from the logo, where he has made the third-most shots in the history of the league, this changes the whole defense.

On top of that, if Young heats up from outside then this then brings his other teammates into the play. This is due to the fact that he is at his most dangerous when all of his offensive weapons are firing. Despite the rise of Bogdanovic, Young is still the engine room of the Hawks’ offense.
