Atlanta Hawks players who can’t disappear No. 2) Kevin Huerter

The Hawks have come to rely on the work that Kevin Huerter puts in night after night. His raw numbers will never show just how crucial his input is for the team. However, it is always good to know what Huerter is contributing.

He is averaging 9.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 0.5 steals in 24.3 minutes per game. His efficiency is off the charts, shooting 51.9 percent from the floor, and 50.0 percent from deep. This is a huge reason the second unit has been so much better than that of the Knicks.

Huerter’s defense, which has been tremendous all season, has evolved in this series again. His development on this end since his rookie season has been meteoric. He was leading the team in steals but due to helping the rest of the team lock up Julius Randle. He is second on the team in blocks per game in the series.

Offensively his role has also changed. Any time he is on the court with Young, he is a floor spacer. Young is a beast with his ability to penetrate so Huerter is rarely used as a second playmaker in this series. It will be very difficult for Huerter to disappear from this series given his ability to be a chameleon for this team.
