Atlanta Hawks possible free agent signing No. 1) Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot

Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot is a veteran of five NBA seasons. In that time he has played some impressive basketball. He is a defensive specialist who has been working diligently on his shooting as shown by the growth in his percentage until last season.

Luwawu-Cabarrot has been a member of the Brooklyn Nets for the past two seasons. His role changed slightly last season with the addition of James Harden. He was asked to shoot the ball more from the perimeter but shot the ball at 31.4 percent this season compared to 38.8 percent last season.

Standing 6’7” Luwawu-Cabarrot is a good size to play both forward spots and can also be used at the shooting guard position at a pinch. He does not require many shots per game to make a difference and would be a tremendous floor spacer for both Trae Young and Lou Williams.

Luwawu-Cabarrot has never been paid more than a minimum salary in his time in the NBA. If the Hawks want to sign him, they could possibly afford to pay him a little more than this to lure him away from the Brooklyn Nets. The Hawks are one of the few teams who are in a similar space to the Nets in terms of playoff participation.
