The Atlanta Hawks have an interesting free agency period coming up. For the second time in two seasons, Hawks fans are talking about the John Collins decision. However, this time the rest of the NBA is joining in due to him being a restricted free agent.

Collins is looking likely to be overpaid in this free agency, given the lack of quality talent available and the volume of cap space available. While both parties have remained positive about being able to reach an agreement, nothing is assured until the pen hits the paper.

Of course, there are a few more days before that can actually happen given that the NBA allows a few days for all the offers to circulate and be discussed. However, until the 6th of August, there will be a large number of rumors and the Hawks will just need to stay the course and hopefully re-sign Collins.

The Atlanta Hawks seem pretty set in the power forward department

Assuming that Collins stays, the Hawks have Danilo Gallinari coming off the bench for the second season in a row. The fact that this career starter has taken to the role without complaint shows the professionalism of the man and this is a tremendous example as a veteran to all the younger teammates around him.

The Hawks also have the newly drafted Jalen Johnson who can play the role as well as the potential of using Cam Reddish there at a pinch. However, all of this can change and if the Hawks go looking for another power forward, they need to avoid these three players.
