Power forwards the Atlanta Hawks need to avoid in free agency No. 1) Jared Dudley

Once a solid rotation piece, Jared Dudley has well and truly passed his prime. He will be 36 this season and despite being a member of the Los Angeles Lakers championship team in 2020, he was not much of a contributor.

Dudley played in 45 games in the Lakers championship season, averaging 1.5 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. However, that was better than his return for this season. In the season just gone, Dudley only played in 12 games, averaging 0.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

Dudley has lost the edge that he used to have when he was a decent performer in the league. He was never a star but was able to average double figures per game in three seasons with the Phoenix Suns. The problem for Dudley and any team that wants to sign him is that was ten years ago.

At the moment the only reason Dudley is still in the league is that he is on a cheap contract. As the Los Angeles Lakers are paying their top guys at the upper end of what the NBA allows and now that they also have Russell Westbrook‘s contract to consider there is a chance that Dudley will re-sign with them. The Hawks, however, cannot afford to have any non-performing players on their roster.
