Atlanta Hawks 3 improvements Kevin Huerter needs to make
By Brice Lewis
Atlanta Hawks improvement No.1 for Kevin Huerter) More consistency from beyond the arc
Now, this may surprise some people as Huerter is known as one of the better shooters. In the first two years of his career, he shot 38% from three. This season he slightly dipped to 36.0 percent and in the playoffs dipped to 34.0 percent.
The thing with Huerter is sometimes he can be very hot and cold. The next step for him is to be more hot than cold. Huerter with his type of shooting prowess should always be shooting above 38.0 percent.
Huerter can be one of the most lethal 3-point shooters, he runs off screens, shoot off the dribble, and is great with spotting up. This also can help with other parts of his game. If you have defenders scared off him getting off the 3-ball, Huerter can take advantage of defenders closing out and drive into the paint for higher percent spots. He can also create for others.
So, if Huerter can shoot at a high clip and be more consistent, it makes the Hawks that more dangerous. Some may say, Huerter is the Hawks’ sixth man and we all know how important this role is. Huerter has all the potential to be an elite shooter, It may even help him get a bigger contract as well down the line.
