Atlanta Hawks: Pro comparisons for Sharife Cooper No. 1) Ish Smith

By far the easiest comparison to draw in the NBA for Cooper is Ish Smith. Both are undersized, both use their quickness in order to beat their opposition. They also have the ability to thread the needle and get a pass away that others can not do.

Smith has had a tremendous career despite the fact that he has played for 11 different franchises in his 11-year career. He had a career-high 14.7 points per game during his stint with the Philadelphia 76ers back in the 2015-16 season.

He also had a career-high 7.0 assists per game during this season which showed that he can certainly run an offense. Hopefully for the Hawks Cooper can develop a bit sooner than Smith who did not average more than 3.7 points per game until after the 2013-14 season which was his fourth in the league.

Smith has also never had a good shot from the perimeter. He has shot the ball at 32.2 percent from behind the arc in his career which is passable but is a string that he would have loved to add to his bow. If Cooper can add this then he is going to be an incredible backup point guard for years to come.
