Bogdan Bogdanovic was a very nice surprise for the Atlanta Hawks this year. He almost didn’t even end up on the team as initially, he was supposed to be a member of the Milwaukee Bucks, but the trade fell through due to Bogdanovic not agreeing to the sign and trade.

The Hawks then swooped in and signed him to a four-year $72 million deal, which now looks like excellent value. He became a starter close to mid-season and never looked back once that happened. Now he’s the backcourt running mate with Trae Young, they are a dangerous duo.

Bogdanovic was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 2014, taken with the 27th pick but never played for them because he chose to stay overseas. Then his rights were traded to the Sacramento Kings in a 2016 draft-night trade. It was here that he played his first three seasons in the NBA. Last season with the Hawks he finally got a system where he could shine and people saw how good of a player he is.

Bogdan Bogdanovic has become one of the NBA’s best shooters with the Atlanta Hawks

Bogdanovic posted his best scoring season to date, averaging 16.4 points, shooting 43 percent from beyond the arc and 90 percent from the free-throw line which were both also career highs. The Serbian sharpshooter seems to have found a home in Atlanta. He has become one of the most important players for the Hawks.

He is key in the Hawks making another run in the playoffs next year and potentially making it to the NBA finals. However, Bogdanovic still has things he can improve to help continue his ascension and help the team. So I dive into 3 things Bogdan Bogdanovic needs to improve going into next season.
